Controlling the emission linewidths of alloy quantum dots with asymmetric strain

摘要
In order to reduce the emission linewidth of quantum dots (QDs), we inhibited the emission of the light-hole (lh) state by controlling core–shell strain and then reduced the exciton-phonon coupling (EPC) by alloying cations. Our asymmetrically strained QD ensemble exhibits highly bright emissions with ultra-narrow linewidths of 13.8 nm (∼520 nm) and 15.8 nm (∼620 nm).
