Suspect West Nile encephalitis in a horse imported into the UK from Europe

The authors have detected West Nile virus‐specific antibodies in a horse in the UK with signs of neurological disease. The horse had recently been imported from Europe and does not represent a threat for onward transmission itself, but highlights the need for vigilance for this zoonotic vector‐borne disease in the UK.
