P378. Blue Light Photic Stimulator for Augmentation of Electroconvulsive Therapy

Photic stimulation has been used long before to provoke seizures during diagnostic EEG and it as considered as an alternative for electroconvulsive therapy with combination of sub convulsive metrazol treatment in 1940s (1). As 5 % of the patients may not have adequate seizures in current max ECT stimulus dose and increased stimulus dose is associated with more memory side effects, we aimed to design an experimental prototype of photic stimulator to use just before ECT treatment.
