Lactobacillus Casei T1 Attenuateshelicobacter Pylori-Induced Inflammation in Mice

Probiotics are defined as live microbial food elements which are beneficial to human health. Lactobacillus casei T1 ( L. casei T1) is considered to have potential as a bioactive ingredient in functional foods, which is isolated from kurut. Our study showed the fermentation broth of L. casei T1 has a broad-spectrum antimicrobial ability, including H. pylori . From this, L. casei T1 has potential to prevent foods from microbial contamination as a natural food additive. Further studies showed that treated with L. casei T1 could relieve H. pylori -induced overexpression of inflammatory cytokines in GES-1 cells. Taking long-term L. casei T1 could decrease oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction, and improve H. pylori-induced gastric mucosal damage in mice. Results revealed L. casei T1 had certain degrees of therapeutic effect against H. pylori . Therefore, L. casei T1 could be developed into functional foods to improve the health of H. pylori -infected individuals.
