In this paper, a miniaturized pattern reconfigurable hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna fed by multiple ports is proposed. The mode TE111 in the hemispherical dielectric resonator is excited at 6.3 GHz to obtain high gain and directional radiation patterns. The dielectric substrate of the antenna is FR4 material, and four microstrip patches are fed by coaxial probes to excite the TE111 mode in the hemisphere dielectric resonator on the dielectric substrate in different directions. The reconfigurable switching network selectively feeds the four ports at the bottom of the dielectric substrate, so a pattern reconfigurable antenna with five radiation modes is designed.
