A Millimeter-wave Microstrip MIMO Antenna for n260 Frequency-band

In this paper, a coaxial-fed microstrip slotted antenna is proposed for the 5G millimeter-wave communication in n260 frequency band (37GHz-42.5GHz). The antenna adopts the method of slotting on the initial rectangular microstrip antenna and adding a parasitic patch on a side of the initial rectangular microstrip antenna, the method effectively improves the antenna bandwidth while simplifying the antenna structure. The antenna simulation results showed that the impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 37GHz-44.2GHz, covering the full frequency of n260 frequency band. Then a 4-element microstrip MIMO antenna was designed with the microstrip slotted antenna as unit element. The MIMO antenna simulation results showed that the impedance bandwidth of each port of the MIMO antenna is 37.2GHz-44.8GHz, the bandwidth reached 7.6GHz, included in the n260 frequency band. The antenna isolations between the 4 ports are both less than -15dB, with MIMO practical performance.
