摘要
Mobilization upon cooling Adsorbed on a copper surface, dimolybdenum tetraacetate molecules form an ordered structure of upright-standing molecules at room temperature. Upon cooling down to 220 K, the molecules become mobile on the surface. This counterintuitive phase transition from an ordered structure at high temperatures to a mobile phase at low temperatures can be explained by a smaller molar entropy in the mobile phase as compared to the ordered phase, as reported by Angelika Kühnle and co-workers in their Communication on page 19117.
