Investigating a Reversed-Field Sidelobe Cancelling Technique on Array Sidelobes Beamshaping
2019 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP)(2019)
Abstract
This paper investigates a reversed-field sidelobe cancelling (RFSLC) technique for phased arrays to suppress the sidelobes at the signals-not-of-interest (SNOIs). In this work, opposite fields are generated at the SNOIs to cancel the fields from the contribution of the original array. A sixteen-element of uniform and random phased arrays are adopted separately to demonstrate the sidelobe reduction performance. Analytical calculations and systematic beamshaping procedures are illustrated and explained.
