Transient Analyses of FGM Sandwich Cylindrical Shell Panels under Air-Blast Load

The present investigation deals with the transient response of functionally graded sandwich cylindrical shell panels (FGCSP). The core of the sandwich shell is made of FGM, and the lower and upper facesheets consist of pure metal and ceramic, respectively. The elastic values of the FGM core are estimated using Voigt's rule of mixture (ROM). The modified Friedlander equation has been considered to model the air-blast load. A finite element model has been developed on a layerwise theory and the same is based on FSDT for three layers. The parametric studies reveal that the volume fraction index has a considerable effect on the transient response of FGCSP.
