摘要
When rescuing individuals from confined spaces, blind entry to a space often results in casualties or severe injuries in rescuers. Emergency drills are indispensable for safeguarding rescuers and enhancing rescue outcomes in such situations. The virtual reality (VR) serious game (SG) has become a popular approach to emergency drills. A confined space rescue SG based on VR technology (CSRVRSG) was established in this study. The rescue process in a confined-space incident is modeled in 3D, with texture stitching, skinned mesh animation, and other technologies to achieve a low-cost, efficient VR SG experience for effective emergency drills. Confined space workers and normal workers are invited to test the CSRVRSG. It was showed that this game is well-designed and applicable; Moreover, it was proved that the confined space rescue knowledge of participants can be greatly improved using VR SG.
