摘要
By 2020, Cisco Inc. predicted that there will be around 50 billion connected devices across the world. The heterogeneity among devices, the variation in the level of security requirement of an object, memory, computing, and processing capability of these devices open up new security threats which were not there in a traditional network. With the advent of smart devices, the world is getting smart, and human life is getting easier day by day; however, these smart devices are encountering numerous privacy and security challenges like secure machine-to-machine (S-M2M) communications, key management, cryptographic solutions, device security, cyberattack, authentication mechanisms, and cloud security. Any security breach in these IoT devices may severely affect human life or any communication system. The traditional security models are lagging behind in defending against these new threats; therefore it is foremost important to identify these issues and resolve them as much as possible. This chapter presents major active and passive attacks and a novel security model to secure the IoT network.
