Effects of contrast enhancement boost postprocessing technique in combination with different reconstruction algorithms on the image quality of abdominal CT angiography

•The CE-boost technique can improve the image quality compared to the original ones in abdominal CTA.•Images reconstructed with model-based IR and CE-boost had the best image quality compared with the other four datasets.•Images reconstructed with hybrid IR and CE-boost exhibited superior or comparable image quality to the model-based IR datasets.•The superior performance of CE-boost images was prominent in small vessel branches.
