摘要
Since sodium ion batteries (SIB) have attracted much interest for grid storage due to the lower projected cost in comparison to lithium-ion batteries (LIB), a potential anode material CoMoO4 was investigated and tested for both LIB and SIB application. In this work, the mixed morphology of nanoparticles and nanoplatelets with different sizes were successfully synthesized using facile hydrothermal synthesis method at temperature of 550 degrees C followed by systematic characterizations. The fabrication strategy is unique but very simple, and because of its versatility, it could be extended to other high-capacity metal oxide anode materials for rechargeable batteries. The obtained electrochemical results demonstrate that the CoMoO4 performance is highly morphological dependent and mainly suits for SIB. The current rate performance, capacity retention, long range cycling and stability of CoMoO4 anode material is significantly better for SIB than LIB. This study thus provides a comprehensive comparison of electrochemical behaviour, structural distortions under high current density, redox voltages for CoMoO4 using numerous effective strategies.
