Identifying Complete Set of Parameters Using Transmitter Side Information for Multi-transmitter Wireless Power Transfer Systems

Accurate parameter identification is essential for monitoring and control of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. This paper proposes an estimation method to identify the complete set of parameters for two-transmitter LCC-C compensated WPT systems. The method is only based on input voltages and currents at the transmitting coils, without communications from the receiving coil. First, the mathematical model of the two-transmitter LCC-C WPT system is built. Afterwards, the Levenberg-Marquardt method is applied to solve the problem and to identify the parameters of the system. The proposed method can estimate the complete set of the parameters of the system, including the mutual inductance, load resistance, and other parameters within the transmitter and receiver circuits, with relatively low computational burden. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
