Modeling and Simulation of a Photovoltaic Panel by Using Proteus

With the reflection on global warming, renewable energies have become privileged areas of study. Solar is one of those energies that have recently been brought up to date. This paper aims to design a model of photovoltaic cells. Therefore, the theoretical design of the PV system has been made using Proteus software based on mathematical equations. Those equations are established based on the equivalent circuit of the PV panel. The circuit contains some simple electrical components composed of a photoelectric current source, a diode, and two resistors. A first study has been made to compare the simulation of a mathematical model with manufacturer data. Once approved, a second comparison was launched to validate empirical data collected via measurement of current and voltage to results of the first simulation. As a result, the comparison has shown a good correlation between the theoretical model, Proteus simulation, and the empirical data collected.
