摘要
Temporary IVC filter retrieval rates are reported to be as low as 6.6% in the literature. Low retrieval rates may be due to difficulty in tracking patients. While dedicated IVC filter clinics and electronic spreadsheets have been reported to increase IVC filter retrieval rates and clinical follow-up, these solutions can be labor intensive to maintain. We attempted to improve our existing IVC filter tracking system by developing cloud-based automated tracking software with electronic health record (EHR) integration to automatically track patients with implanted IVC filters.
