Study on the treatment of radioactive wastewater by non-contact membrane distillation

•A non-contact membrane distillation method for radioactive wastewater treatment has been developed to reduce membrane fouling and membrane wetting.•The rejection rate of strontium ions in simulated radioactive wastewater is over 99.99%, the decontamination factor is above 4.5 × 106, and the permeate flux is up to 24.87 kg/(m2·h).•The total α/β radioactivity of the distillate after the treatment of low discharge uranium-containing wastewater meets the national discharge standard.
