PROSPECTIVE NURSING INTERVENTIONS IN THE PERIOPERATIVE PERIOD OF PATIENTS WITH SPONTANEOUS PNEUMOTHORAX CAUSED BY RUPTURED PULMONARY ALVEOLI

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effect of prospective nursing interventions in the perioperative period of patients with spontaneous pneumothorax due to large ruptured alveoli. Methods: Ninety-four patients with spontaneous pneumothorax caused by ruptured pulmonary alveoli admitted to our hospital from May 2018 to May 2020 were selected as the study subjects. Then, they were divided into the control group (n = 47) and the study group (n = 47) using the random number table method. The control group received conventional nursing interventions, and the observation group received prospective nursing interventions based on the control group. The two groups were compared based on postoperative recovery (time to extubation, time to anal discharge, length of stay), preoperative, 1d postoperative, 3d postoperative, and 7d postoperative pain numerical rating scale (NRS) scores, pre-intervention and discharge psychological Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) scores, and complication rates. Results: The time to extubation, time to anal discharge, and hospital stay were shorter in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The NRS scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group at 1d, 3d, and 7d postoperatively (P < 0.05). The CD-RISC scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group at discharge (P < 0.05). The complication rate in the observation group was 2.13% (1/47) lower than that in the control group with 19.15% (9/47) (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Prospective nursing interventions applied to patients with spontaneous pneumothorax caused by ruptured alveoli in the perioperative period can reduce pain, regulate psychological resilience, decrease the risk of complications, and promote physical recovery.
