Failure to thrive and severe malnutrition secondary to duodenocolic fistula: A case report

•Duodenocolic fistula is an infrequent surgical condition.•Early diagnosis and intervention are the cornerstones of treatment.•Duodenocolic fistula patients are ill because of malnutrition, malabsorption, and dehydration.•Regardless of the cause of the fistula, surgery is the only treatment.
