Highly Graphitized Lignin-Derived Porous Carbon with Hierarchical N/O Co-Doping “Core-Shell” Superstructure Supported by Metal-Organic Frameworks for Advanced Supercapacitor Performance
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING JOURNAL(2023)
Abstract
•ZIF-8 NPs act as versatile porous templates for the efficient and uniform adsorption of lignin molecules.•Lignin layer evenly wrapped on ZIF-8 NPs can be carbonized into uniform and compact carbon “shell”.•KOH activation combining HF/HCl treatment fabricates highly graphitized and porous superstructure of KGC-EHL@ZIF-8 NPs.•Porous graphitized “shell” and N/O co-doping species greatly facilitate the advanced supercapacitor performance.•The proposed mechanisms for improved supercapacitor performance were well analyzed and demonstrated.
