Patch Antenna for Microwave Hyperthermia Applications

Hyperthermia is a treatment that raises the temperature of a cancer-affected area in the body. It's used in conjunction with other cancer treatments. Several approaches can be used to obtain the needed temperature rise. This article discusses the appropriateness of a patch antenna design for microwave hyperthermia applications. The findings of this model demonstrate that the proposed miniaturized antenna is suitable because of its multiband operation and narrow beam-width. Its modest lateral dimension also makes it excellent for use in array formation in microwave HCT.
