Surface investigation on aluminium composite by additive manufacturing process

•The powder bed fusion techniques were used to fabricate the silicon carbide based aluminium composite.•The composition and characterization were analyzed through Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).•It was concluded that the synthesized aluminium composite has admirable material properties and surface characteristics.
