Using a disposable platform based on reduced graphene oxide, iron nanoparticles and molecularly imprinted polymer for voltammetric determination of vanillic acid in fruit peels

•Vanillic acid (VA) is a phenolic compound found in many natural matrices.•A disposable electrochemical platform for VA determination is reported for the first time.•The proposed platform presented a detection limit of 3.1 × 10−10 mol/L.•The analytical method was applied for VA determination in orange and banana peels.
