A case of subacute bowel obstruction revealing slowly-evolutive gastro-intestinal mucormycosis following allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation

•Mucormycosis can display a slow evolution even in immunocompromised patients.•Invasive fungal diseases should be suspected when granuloma occurs after allo-HSCT.•Mucorales-specific PCR in serum and histological samples can help diagnosis.•Both surgery and medical therapy are promptly required to treat mucormycosis.
