•Tensile property shows isotropy while creep property exhibits anisotropy.•Creep deformation mechanisms were revealed along different loading directions.•Creep cracks preferentially nucleate at the junctions between Cu/Brass texture grains.•Pre-stress aging treatment can effectively suppress creep anisotropy.
