Joint effects of micro-sized polystyrene and chlorpyrifos on zebrafish based on multiple endpoints and gut microbial effects

•Micro-sized PS accumulated in zebrafish and affected fish at sub-individual level.•Micro-sized PS caused disorders and diversity changes of gut microbiota in fish.•Micro-sized PS adsorbed chlorpyrifos and transferred it to zebrafish.•PS adsorbing chlorpyrifos caused greater impacts on zebrafish than its action alone.
