Deep eutectic solvent (DES) based dispersive Liquid-Phase microextraction of Sunset yellow FCF in food and pharmaceutical products

•Sunset yellow, one of the food additives with the highest risk to consumer health, has been examined.•The presented DES microextraction method is fast, easy and environmentally friendly.•Good analytical results were obtained include recovery results as well.•The enrichment technique was applied to various drugs, vitamins, beverages and foods.•The limit of detection and limit of quantification were found as 0.05 μg L−1 and 0.17 μg L−1, respectively.
