Effect of forest landscapes composition and configuration on bird community and its functional traits in a hotspot of biodiversity of Chile

•Bird richness responded positively by native forest and negatively by mixed forest.•Insectivores has preferences by landscape with homogeneous crops.•Omnivores show a positive response by landscape with heterogeneous crops.•Bird functional group are essential to maintain ecosystem services.•Vegetation structure has a stronger influence on bird functional groups occupancy.
