Influence of Coulomb Term on Thermal Properties of Fluorine

In this work, the thermal properties of the fluorine have been theoretically investigated and compared with experimental results. For this purpose, the Woods-Saxon (WS) potential model is considered in addition to the spin-orbit interaction term. The Schrodinger equation has been. solved by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method without and with considering the Coulomb term. The specific heat capacity, the Gibbs energy, enthalpy, entropy and mean energy of the fluorine with and without considering the Coulomb term. We found that the specific at constant pressure is in good agreement with the experimental data without the Coulomb term. The enthalpy and Gibbs free energy have better agreement with the experimental results with the Coulomb term. It is also deduced that the Coulomb term has an important effect on the thermal properties of fluorine.
