A Small Cipher with Two-Layer Discrete Logarithm: Design and Simulation

摘要
It is desirable to design a compact block cipher for small devices in V2X paradigms. Discrete logarithm (DL) in the Galois field has been recognized as a non-trivial procedure in the public-key ciphers. In this paper, we design a private-key cipher based on the two-layer or double DL. We use an artificial neural network to test this cipher. Several interesting results are obtained. It seems that the number of rounds is critically important.
