Study on the Influence of Electrospinning Coating on Polypropylene Surface on the Electrical Property

The dielectric properties of polypropylene films are an important factor restricting the performance of peaking capacitors. In order to further increase the energy storage density of peaking capacitors, it is necessary to improve the dielectric properties of the polypropylene film under nanosecond pulses. For this reason, the surface-coated polypropylene sample is prepared by the electrospinning method. There are four types of electrospinning solutions prepared: polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene and polyvinyl alcohol, and a mixture of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) and polyvinyl alcohol. The flashover voltage under nanosecond pulse and AC of the surface of the polypropylene film will be tested in air. The surface morphology, surface conductivity, and dielectric spectrum of polypropylene film samples coated with different materials were tested. We found that electrospinning surface coating can increase the surface conductivity of the polypropylene film. Under nanosecond pulses, the flashover voltage of the polypropylene film coated on the electrospinning surface does not decrease significantly. It is beneficial to improve the energy storage performance of peaking capacitors.
