Malpositioned IVC Filter Via Dual Access Endovascular Technique
Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases, Innovations and Techniques(2022)
摘要
Inferior vena cava (IVC) filters remain a valuable solution for patients with venous thromboembolism who have contraindications to anticoagulation. Some of the most common complications associated with these devices include malposition or migration. In this case report, we discuss a patient who presented with an unretrievable, malpositioned filter that had the struts perforating her duodenum, aorta, and vertebral body. She subsequently underwent a two-surgeon endovascular procedure with complete extrication of the filter struts.
