Ghost-Target Suppression in Coherent Radar Networks

Coherent radar-repeater networks offer great opportunities, e.g. in network-based direction of arrival (DoA) estimation. However, due to the special bistatic signal path with two reflections at the targets, the bistatic measurements are affected by additional ghost targets. The de-ghosting algorithm presented in this work not only allows for a mitigation of this additional ghost-targets but also the identification of unwanted clutter peaks. Thus, it enables the efficient exploitation of the network's possibilities, as verified by measurements.
