With the exponential growth of information technology in the 21st century, the landscape of medical education has changed dramatically. One such example is the free open access medical education (FOAMed) movement, which allows for dissemination of material in a digital format that facilitates ease of access and open sharing.1 FOAMed resources can take various forms (eg, blogs, podcasts, tweets, and videos) and typically rely on social media for dissemination. Importantly, FOAMed differs from traditional learning by being asynchronous, accessible on mobile platforms, and digestible.
