Numerical Simulations of Stochastic Differential Equation Model for Spatiotemporal Biological Interactions

In this paper, based on a mechanistic approach, we propose a stochastic partial differential equation model for describing biological mechanical interactions between proliferating cells during collective migration. We investigate particularly wavefront propagating under the influence of random space-time fluctuations. We perform some numerical simulations in order to assess the behavior of the solution in comparison with the deterministic mechanical model. It is found that small multiplicative noise below some critical noise strength has no significant effect on the propagating wavefronts.
