Sub-Barrier fusion analysis of 14N + 59Co and 16O + 59Co systems

Theoretical analysis for the fusion dynamics of 14N+59Co and 16O+59Co systems have been explored by using Wong formula and Symmetric-Asymmetric Gaussian Barrier Distribution (SAGBD) approach at energies lie in sub-barrier domain. The coupling of various channel related with the structural effects of fusing nuclei abnormally enhanced the fusion excitation functions relative to the expectations of simple barrier penetration model. In contrast, SAGBD predictions explained the fusion mechanism of 14N, 16O+59Co systems in all range of the projectiles energy. The effects of dominant channels on fusion processes for above specified systems are analyzed in terms of channel coupling parameter (λ) and percentage reduction in height of effective barrier (VCBRED ). The non-zero values of these parameter reflected that the nuclear structure effects associated with the fusing pair strongly affect the fusion process of the studied systems. Furthermore, the value derived from the x2-analysis for the selected reactions also indicate the reliability of the SAGBD calculations.
