PL03.06 Lobar or Sub-lobar Resection for Peripheral Clinical Stage IA = 2 cm Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Results From an International Randomized Phase III Trial (CALGB 140503 [Alliance])

The increased detection of small-sizedperipheral non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has renewed interest in sub-lobarresection in-lieu of lobectomy, thetraditional standard of care. CALGB140503 (Alliance) is a multicenter international non-inferiority phase IIItrial in which NSCLC patients clinically staged as T1aN0 ≤ 2 cm were randomly assigned to lobar orsub-lobar resection. The primary endpoint is disease-free survival (DFS). Secondary endpoints included overall survival anddifference in pulmonary functions at 6 months postoperatively between arms.
