Structural and morphological characterization of hydrothermally synthesized N-Carbon Dot @ Fe3O4 composites for heavy metal ion detection

•N-Carbon Dot (CD) @ Fe3O4 composite was successfully fabricated via the hydrothermal method.•Prepared composite exhibited noticeable fluorescence properties.•The SEM image of N- CD @ Fe3O4 shows spherical surface morphology.•N- CD @ Fe3O4 composite offers new insight into the evolution of highly selective and sensitive materials for water remediation applications.
