摘要

•A series of 2-mercaptobenzothiazolium-based ILs were immobilized onto MCM-41.•The impact of aryl/alkyl groups of SILs on adsorption efficiency was also studied.•All the SILs performed well in the adsorptive desulfurization study.•The adsorption was increased due to π-π interactions between SILs and sulfur species.
