Numerical investigation on heat transfer characteristics of liquid metal cross flow over tube bundles

•Kays’ Prt model shows good prediction of BFS and cross flow convection over tube bundles.•Low Pr effects weaken the influence of gap flow impinging and turbulent wakes on heat transfer.•Low Pr effects on heat transfer decrease with the increments of Re numbers.•A new Nu number correlation for liquid metal cross flow over inline tube bundles is proposed.
