Post-modified FeNi Metal-Organic Frameworks Assisted by Microwave for Oxygen Evolution Reaction

Bimetallic metal-organic framework materials (MOFs) have promising potential as electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reactions (OER). Herein, a facile post-modification method assisted by microwave in N, N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) is implemented to introduce Ni species into MIL-88-Fe, which results in the reconstruction and more defects in the MOFs. More importantly, with defects and synergistic effect, MIL-88-FeNi exhibits excellent OER activity with a low overpotential of 290 mV to meet 10 mA cm(-2) and a Tafel of 49 mV dec(-1). The catalyst remains relatively stability. This work opens new sights for enhancing the performance of MOFs-based electrocatalysts by microwave treatment.
