Quantitative Characterization of Mechanical Twins Based on New Digital Image Processing Method
Social Science Research Network(2022)
摘要
To measure the volume fraction of mechanical twins in transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images, a new image processing method named “Oriented-Linear Object Segmentation (OLOS) method” was proposed. The processing results showed that the twin volume fractions in TEM images could be measured more directly, rapidly, and effectively. This OLOS method is potentially developed for quantifying the twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) effect in metals, e.g. TWIP steels, high entropy alloys, and copper.
