Shadow-Free Extraction of Motion Targets Using Vibe Algorithm and Laplace-Gause Operator

In order to solve the shadowing problem in the process of dynamic target detection, this paper adopts the idea of integrating the Vibe algorithm with the edge detection operator, which not only improves the shadowing problem to a certain extent, but also enhances the robustness of detection. First, a background model is created for each pixel in the initial frame, and the model is initialized based on the pixel values. Secondly, the Laplace operator is used to extract the edges of the Gaussian filtered noise-reduced image, and then the extracted results are fused with the foreground target obtained by vibe. Finally, the morphological filling process is applied to the fused image. The result reveals that the strategy can effectively improve the shadowing problem during dynamic detection, significantly enhance the accuracy and reduce the false detection rate.
