Adjoint-optimized nanoscale light extractor for enhanced luminescence from color centers in diamond

摘要
Nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond are emitters that function as sensors of electric and magnetic fields, temperature, and strain. Diamond's high refractive index limits emitted light, reducing NV-based sensor performance. We demonstrate an easily-fabricable adjoint-optimized extractor that improves output from NV centers by 50-fold.
