摘要
Introduction: Radiographic visualization of vascular scaffolds provides potential advantages during initial deployment and follow-up assessments. However, bioresorbable scaffolds are typically not constructed from radiopaque materials and image interpretation is often complicated by adjacent vascular calcifications and iodinated intravascular contrast. One strategy to achieve fluoroscopic and CT-based visualization of bioresorbable polymeric scaffolds is to dope them with radiopaque additives. Gadolinium (Gd) and iodine (I) are potentially useful radiopaque dopants for polymeric bioresorbable scaffolds due to their established biocompatibility.
