New Frontiers in Computing in the 21^st Century

To say that computing has been the greatest contribution of man towards enhancing the quality of life of mankind on earth may not be an overstatement. As a result, this paper takes a critical look at the present state of computing and projects into the fate of computing in the near future. After some analysis, this study opines that presently computing is one of the most thriving fields in modern education in the developing countries such as Russia, Brazil, China, Nigeria and South Africa, amongst others. However, this study opines that there is need to rejig computing and its curriculum early enough in the developing countries before it begins to lose steam as we presently have in some developed countries such as the USA and Taiwan.
