Hierarchical VANET: A Traffic Congestion Management Approach Based on Critical Points

Traffic congestion management is becoming a challenging issue in vehicular ad hoc networks. In this work, we provide an innovative hierarchical model, based on two abstraction levels to prevent the traffic congestion. Such a hierarchical approach constitutes a good compromise between real-time monitoring of traffic and feasibility in terms of computational costs.
