摘要

•Monometallic and bimetallic lanthanide-based infinite coordination polymers (ICPs) were synthesized.•The ICPs exhibited luminescent spherical particles with micrometric diameters.•The bimetallic samples (Tb/Eu) were successfully applied in the ratiometric detection of dipicolinic acid.•The monometallic sample (Tb) could detect Cr3+, Fe3+, Cu2+, and Cr2O72− ions by luminescence quenching mechanism.
