Enhanced electrical conductivity of pitch-derived carbon via graphene template effects for high electrically conductive composites

•The structure and properties of graphene-templated pitch-based carbon materials were investigated.•The addition of 1% graphene improves the carrier concentration and mobility by 2.9 times and 1.9 times.•The addition of 1% graphene increases the temperature of PC-PVDF composite by 80 °C at 15 V.•Graphene template can reduce carbon defects and improve graphitization.
