摘要
•Sulfide control in sewer was much more outstanding using POMs than other chemicals.•Recovery processes of sulfide and methane resemble the regrowth of sewer microbes.•POMs disrupted intracellular metabolism and enzymatic activity in sewer biofilms.•Reduction COD loss was economically attractive for downstream wastewater treatment.•The combined dosing of POMs and FNA reinforced methane control efficiency.
